We Were in Your Shoes

In 2020, we moved to Phuket with our daughters. We looked at every school on the island. Some were too rigid, some too expensive, and none of them felt like the childhood we wanted for our children. So we built one ourselves.

Bamboo Valley started with our own family and a handful of others who shared the same vision: children learning outdoors, surrounded by nature, free to explore at their own pace. Four years later, we have families from over 15 countries β€” and a green campus under palm trees that still takes our breath away.

Summer Camps β€” When Other Schools Close

[PLACEHOLDER: Explain that most Phuket international schools close May-August. Bamboo Valley runs summer camps during this period, making it perfect for families arriving during summer months.]

[PLACEHOLDER: Mention that July-August is peak time for families relocating. Parents can work during camp hours while children are cared for. Describe the camp vibe β€” same campus, same philosophy, more adventure.]

  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: Age range for summer camps]
  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: What activities are in summer camp β€” outdoor adventure, water play, arts, field trips]
  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: Camp hours β€” important for working parents. What are the hours? Extended care available?]
  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: Weekly enrollment? Can they start any Monday?]

Summer camp on our palm tree campus

[PLACEHOLDER: Online Schooling Option β€” May/June]

[PLACEHOLDER: For families who are hesitant about flying during uncertain times (May-June war fears), do we offer any online/hybrid option? Or should we position this as "start online, transition to in-person when you're ready"? The consultant mentioned parents being afraid to fly May-June β€” what can we offer them?]

[PLACEHOLDER: Is this something we actually do or want to offer? If not, we should remove this section entirely.]

We Handle the Rest

You focus on your family. We take care of the logistics. Our relocation guide covers everything we wish someone had handed us when we first arrived in Phuket.

🏑

Housing Connections

[PLACEHOLDER: Do we have agreements with specific housing/villa rental companies? Or is this more like a curated list of recommendations? The consultant mentioned "agreements with houses" β€” what do we actually have or want to build?]

πŸ“±

Apps & Good-to-Know

[PLACEHOLDER: Which apps should we recommend? Grab, LINE, Google Maps, Bolt, foodpanda, Lazada? Banking apps? Hospital apps? What are the essential "good to know" things β€” driving, SIM cards, money exchange, health insurance?]

β˜•

Our Favorite Places

[PLACEHOLDER: The consultant suggested sharing favorite playgrounds, local food spots, coffee shops, massage places β€” possibly with partner discounts for BV families. Do we want to curate this list? Could we negotiate discounts with local businesses?]

πŸ†˜

Emergency Support

[PLACEHOLDER: The consultant suggested an emergency hotline β€” English-speaking nanny, house helper contacts, what to do if a parent gets injured. Do we want to partner with local agencies for this? What level of support can we realistically offer?]

You're Not Doing This Alone

[PLACEHOLDER: Describe the parent community. Monthly BBQs, informal meetups. The consultant said "you know moms talk" β€” the network effect of having other parents who've made the same move.]

[PLACEHOLDER: Mention that hesitant parents can connect with existing BV parents before they even book their flight. A mom who's already done it can answer the real questions no website can.]

  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: "Connect with parents who've already made the move" β€” is this a formal buddy system or informal? The consultant offered to be a contact herself.]
  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: What kind of parent meetups do we actually do? Monthly BBQs, coffee mornings, workshops? Be specific.]
  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: The consultant mentioned "once a month organize a trip with the kids" β€” do we do this? Family excursions to beaches, waterfalls, islands?]
  • βœ“[PLACEHOLDER: "Not sure yet? Talk to one of our parents first" β€” can we offer this? The consultant suggested it. Would be powerful for conversion.]

Send Us a Message

Tell us about your family β€” children's ages, when you're thinking of coming, what you need. WhatsApp, email, or the form below.

School placement, housing options, lifestyle guide, parent introductions β€” we put together your complete package before you arrive.

3

You Arrive Ready

Your children start school. You have a home, a community, and a support network. From day one, you're not a tourist β€” you're family.

Common Questions

Is there a minimum enrollment period?

No. You can enroll for as little as one week. Many traveling families stay for 2–4 weeks, while relocating families often start with a month to see how their children settle before committing to a full term.

What curriculum do you follow?

We follow a Waldorf-inspired approach enhanced with targeted learning techniques. Storytelling, watercolor painting, handwork, music, and nature exploration form the core β€” combined with phonics, numeracy, and reading for older children. No screens, no worksheets, no homework.

What language is used?

English is the primary language. We have children from over 15 countries, so the classroom is naturally multilingual. Children who arrive speaking no English typically become conversational within weeks.

What ages do you accept?

Ages 2 to 9 β€” nursery (2–4), kindergarten (3–6), and primary (6–9).

How much does it cost?

[PLACEHOLDER: Now that we have a clear pricing section above, this FAQ answer should reference it briefly and add any nuance. "See our full pricing breakdown above. Long-term is XΰΈΏ/month, short-term is YΰΈΏ/month. No hidden fees."]

What about visas?

Most families arrive on a tourist visa (60 days, extendable to 90). For longer stays, education visas and the Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa are options. We can connect you with trusted local visa agents who help families regularly.

How do you handle food allergies?

[PLACEHOLDER: The consultant mentioned this is always a concern. Do we have an allergy protocol? Ingredient folder that parents can review? Do parents sign off? Can parents provide their own food? This needs a real answer.]

[PLACEHOLDER: "Can my child start online before we move?" or "What if we're not ready to fly yet?" β€” what's the right question here?]

[PLACEHOLDER: Do we offer any online/hybrid option for families who want to start but aren't ready to relocate yet? Or should we remove this FAQ?]

Do you run summer camps?

[PLACEHOLDER: Yes/details about summer camp. When does it run? Ages? Cost? Can families enroll just for summer?]

Can I talk to other parents before deciding?

[PLACEHOLDER: The consultant strongly suggested this. "Absolutely. We can connect you with parents who have already made the move. They can answer the real questions β€” about schools, neighborhoods, daily life β€” that no website can." Is this something we want to formally offer?]
