Head Lice
Head lice are one of the most common childhood health issues worldwide. They're not dangerous, they don't carry disease, and having them says nothing about hygiene or cleanliness. They're simply a normal part of childhood, especially in close group settings like schools.
However, because lice spread easily through head-to-head contact β which happens constantly in early childhood β untreated cases affect the whole community, not just one family.
Why Treatment Matters
- β’Lice almost never go away on their own β they live, feed, and reproduce on the scalp
- β’Untreated children become a continuous source of reinfestation for everyone
- β’Even families who treat properly will see lice return if others don't
- β’A single untreated case can re-seed an entire group within days

When to Keep Children Home
- βFever within the last 24 hours
- βVomiting or diarrhea
- βContagious conditions (pink eye, hand-foot-mouth, etc.)
- βPersistent cough that disrupts activities
- βGenerally unwell and unable to participate
Community First
We know it's inconvenient when your child can't attend school. We know treatment takes time and effort. We appreciate every family who responds quickly when these issues arise.
This is what community means: sometimes we make small sacrifices for each other. When everyone does their part, outbreaks end quickly and children can return to learning together.
